Business 101 Roundtable
Sustainability as a Challenge to Business
“Sustainability consists of fulfilling the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations while ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care and social well-being”.
Join us at our next Business 101 Roundtable in collaboration with the Thames Valley Sustainability Working Group. This informative and engaging discussion will focus on sustainability and how it will impact businesses across the region.
In June 2023, the Chamber published its first State of the Region report, which aimed to set a benchmark for where the Thames Valley business community is at on its journey to net zero. Through its research, the report identified that:
• 32% of small businesses strongly agreed that environment impact reduction forms part of their strategic plan/objectives.
• 19% of small businesses cited customers as their main driver to reduce their environmental impact.
• 64% of small businesses do not report on ESG in their annual report.
This Business 101 Roundtable will bring together SMEs from a variety of sectors to discuss the challenges they face in their journey to net zero, the opportunities from being on this journey, and identify practical ideas to implement within your own businesses to ensure its future competitiveness, whilst also supporting the planet.
The session will be hosted by Inchcape and jointly chaired by Barny Evans, Director of Sustainability at Turley, Sarah Carlton and a yet to be confirmed member of the TVCC community. All attendees are encouraged to actively participate in the conversation.
