An Introduction to Export & Import Procedures

What will I learn?

This course is designed for those who want an overview of both export and import procedures. It does not go into the same level of detail as the individual export and import courses, and delegates may wish to consider follow-on courses for greater depth.

Specifically, we cover:

• Review of the export process, including:
• Incoterms® 2020, insurance, methods of payment, commodity codes, origin
• Quotation, order acknowledgment and pro forma invoice
• Packing guidelines and rules
• Shipping documents, booking freight, and transport documentation
• Proof of export – evidential requirements
• Review of the import process, including:
• Product considerations, Incoterms, transport, documentation, costs and contract
• Providing the purchase order
• Booking the shipment and clearance agents
• Import clearance, duties, and import declarations
• Introduction to Special Procedures

How will I learn?

This is an interactive session with practical activities covering both export and import processes. This course can be delivered online or in person.
