Romania Desk

Romania Desk

Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Romanian Embassy in London, Invest Romania and Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, is happy to present a new International Trade Project, Romania Desk.

The Romania Desk has been established to provide businesses, both UK and Romanian, with trade and inward investment support to optimise the wealth of opportunities readily available in both markets.

The Romania Desk provides a wide range of expert support, whether you are a business seeking to:

  • Explore opportunities to export
  • Source and import product and services
  • Identify partners for collaboration or strategic partnerships
  • Set up a business or invest in Romania or the UK

  • Romanian Markets and Opportunities – The attractiveness of Romania’s business environment is reflected in its positive rankings in international business surveys. In 2020, the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Survey ranked Romania at 55th out of 190 economies.
  • InvestRomania is the government body dedicated to providing professional support and advice to foreign investors in Romania. Its main goal is to attract and facilitate inward FDI into the country. InvestRomania is also the “one-stop-shop” for foreign investors, assisting and advising international companies for project implementation in the country.
  • The Embassy of Romania to London carries out all the representative functions for Romania in The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The representation role of the Embassy involves promoting and protecting the interests of the Romanian state and Romanian citizens, in accordance with international law, and Romanian and British legislation.

  • The Thames Valley is the fastest-growing region in the UK, outside of London. The region encompasses companies from all over the world, covering a wide range of sectors, who are brought together in a connected business community. For this reason, the Thames Valley is considered to the be the UK’s true ‘turbo-economy’, the ‘Silicon Valley of Europe’ and therefore, the place to be.
  • Invest in the UK – The UK has a mature, high-spending consumer market and an open, liberal economy,
world-class talent and a business-friendly regulatory environment. Our language, legal system, funding environment, time zone and lack of red tape helps make the UK one of the easiest markets to set-up, scale and grow a business.
