In partnership with the Romanian Embassy in London, the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism and Invest Romania, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) has launched a Romania Desk. An event to officially launch the initiative took place at Cliveden House Hotel, Taplow, Berkshire on Thursday 10th March.
The Romania Ambassador, Laura Popescu, welcomed attendees, which included Sarah Moore, Director of Marketing and Communications at UK Export Finance, Anne-Marie Martin, Director of Global Business Networks, British Chambers of Commerce and many of the Chambers International Trade members.
Bogdan Mihailescu, Minister Counsellor for Commerical and Economic Affairs said “The Romania Desk has all the prerequisites to become a success story: the existence of a strategic partnership between Romania and Great Britain, which has just been renewed, the special interest of Romanian companies for the British market and the extraordinary business and investment opportunities in the two countries.
Romania has a lot to offer and one of the main roles of Romania Desk will be to reveal to the British companies the true business potential existing there.”
Anne White, Head of Compliance and International, Thames Valley Chamber commented: “The Romania Desk will provide a wide range of expert support for businesses seeking to explore export opportunities, source and import product and services and identify partners for collaboration or strategic partnerships.
This is an exciting time for the Chamber and we are looking forward to working with organisations from across both the UK and Romania who have the common goal of doing business globally”.
