Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Success at New Horizons for UK-Romania Trade and Investment Forum
Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce was delighted to participate in the prestigious New Horizons for UK-Romania Trade and Investment Forum, held in collaboration with the Romanian Embassy in the UK and the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce.
The event highlighted Romania as an attractive and strategic investment destination, with insights into its:
- Economic and Political Stability: Providing a secure and predictable environment for investors.
- Attractive Incentives: State aid and tax benefits aimed at fostering business growth.
- Energy Independence: A firm commitment to achieving carbon neutrality.
- Strategic Logistics Advantage: Offering a gateway to Europe and Asia via the Black Sea’s deepest port.
- Skilled Workforce: Highly trained talent ready to support diverse industries.
- Cost-Effective Operations: Competitive costs for office and warehouse spaces.
The forum featured inspiring speeches from key figures, including Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alastair King DL. Panel discussions included expert insights from Mr. Stefan Radu Oprea, Romania’s Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, and representatives of prominent global companies.
A highlight of the event was the signing of the bilateral Convention for the Elimination of Double Taxation, a pivotal agreement signed by HE Laura Popescu, Ambassador of Romania to the UK, and HE Giles Portman, HM’s Ambassador to Romania.
