Knights Strengthens Beaconsfield Dispute Resolution team with appointment of Matthew Whipp as Partner

Knights, the UK’s leading regional legal and professional services business, has strengthened its Dispute Resolution offering in Beaconsfield with the appointment of Matthew Whipp as a Partner.

An experienced litigation and dispute resolution solicitor, Matthew has a strong focus on private wealth disputes, including contentious trust and probate matters. Qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2017, Matthew has built his career across both City and regional law firms, giving him a broad, commercial focus when advising clients.

Originally qualifying into corporate law, Matthew moved into litigation shortly after qualification and has since developed extensive experience acting for a wide range of clients, from PLCs and SMEs to private individuals.

He regularly advises on sensitive and high‑value disputes, including matters with cross‑border elements, and is a specialist in Inheritance Act 1975 claims, trust and estate administration disputes, proprietary estoppel claims and alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and early neutral evaluations.

Matthew’s appointment further strengthens Knights’ growing Dispute Resolution capability and supports the business’ continued investment in specialist expertise to meet increasing client demand across the private wealth sector.

Matthew Whipp, Partner at Knights, said: “It’s an extremely exciting time to have joined Knights, who are the standout regional professional services firm nationally.

“The firm’s unique one team approach and national scale, combined with its strong local presence across the Thames Valley region, provides a brilliant platform to deliver excellent service for clients. I am already seeing the benefit of working as part of such a talented team.”

Michael Kashis, Client Services Director at Knights, added: “Matthew is a talented dispute resolution specialist, has a great reputation locally and is a brilliant addition to the team here in Beaconsfield, which is fantastic for our clients and colleagues as we strive to deliver the very best legal advice.

“This is a really exciting time to be joining the business as we look towards further growth, not just in the South East but nationwide. Matthew has really hit the ground running and we’re excited to be welcoming yet more top professionals to our teams across the country in the weeks and months to come.”

With 1,350 professionals working collaboratively nationwide, Knights is ranked within the top 50 UK law firms by revenue, providing multiple services to business clients alongside premium advisory services to private individuals.
