Scannappeal Strengthens Healthcare Fundraising Through Merger

Scannappeal is excited to share news concerning the future of healthcare fundraising in Buckinghamshire.

Scannappeal and Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund have come together to form a single independent charity, united by a shared commitment to improving local healthcare.

This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Buckinghamshire, strengthening support for better health through awareness, vital equipment and enhanced care experiences for patients, families, NHS staff and the wider community.

Bringing together the two organisations that already work closely allows the new charity to build on collective strengths. This decision has been driven by opportunity and reflects the strength of both charities, each of which is strong, stable and trusted in its own right. By joining forces, the charity can make an even greater difference for local people.

For nearly 40 years, Scannappeal has helped advance local healthcare by funding life-saving equipment and cutting-edge technology, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund has supported hospitals by funding projects that improve care, wellbeing and patient experience. Together, the charity will raise funds for new equipment, improve care environments, support early detection and diagnosis, and help NHS staff, patients, and families, whilst continuing to hold care, community, and compassion as fundamental values.

Commenting on the change Nigel Naylor-Smith, Head of Corporate Partnerships said “The combined charity strengthens our ability to fundraise for life-changing and transformative healthcare, right across the spectrum from awareness to detection and treatment, through to staff and patient experience. An exciting new chapter has begun”.

Through support from the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and their members, an even greater impact on healthcare will be made.
