Macbeth has appointed Jason Rayner as Operations Director, supporting the next phase of the firm’s growth. In his new role, Rayner will work closely with the leadership team to drive operational excellence and deliver the company’s strategic ambitions. As part of the change, Julia McKee will move into the newly created role of Business Improvement Director, partnering with her former Jelf colleague Rayner, on business performance initiatives and strategic projects.
Paul Macbeth, CEO, commented:
Jason is a wonderful addition to our leadership team and someone who I’ve wanted to work with for several years. His experience and approach will be instrumental as we continue to grow while staying true to who we are as a business. With Jason and Julia leading the operational side of the business, we’re in a fantastic position, and I’m incredibly excited about our future.
Rayner brings over 25 years of experience across integrated marketing, commercial leadership and consulting. His career began in financial services with Sun Life and AXA before moving into insurance, where he held roles at Aviva and Jelf. During nine years at Jelf, he held senior marketing and commercial positions spanning commercial insurance, employee benefits, private clients and commercial finance.
He later spent five years in consulting, working with a diverse range of organisations including Lloyds Banking Group and the National Trust. Returning to insurance with Marsh Networks and subsequently Hedron, he advised independent brokers, supporting them across marketing, strategy, operations and leadership. Most recently, he served as Operations Director at The Risk Factor, a specialist broker focused on complex public sector and commercial risks.
Commenting on his appointment, Rayner said:
I vividly remember my first conversation with Paul five years ago. His clarity of vision for Macbeth stood out immediately — not just the ambition to grow, but the commitment to cultural integrity as the backbone of the business. What impressed me even more was seeing that same vision reflected in every team member I met. I feel incredibly honoured to be joining Macbeth and am genuinely excited to help build on the team’s success.
