Members The Business Exchange Swindon and Wiltshire caught up with Tim Major, Account Manager, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, as he shares his year in review and thoughts as we head into 2021.
“This has definitely not been the year any of us expected. Pretty extraordinary and it feels like I have taken my 30 years experience and condensed it into the last 8 months”.
“One of the highlights has been the continued work the Chamber has carried out with its business members and for everyone to rise to the occasion collectively. We have all had to change our ways of working, adapt our business models accordingly and utlise new technology”.
Commenting on the new membership model which was introduced at the start of the year he says “Our new memberships represent an exciting change, providing a choice of the level of engagement, access to new and enhanced benefits and services”.
As well as West Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, Tim also represents Swindon Chamber of Commerce and says “On a personal note, I was delighted to move into a new representative office in Old Town Swindon, demonstrating the Chambers continued commitment to the town”.
And his hopes for 2021 are – “Whilst our members have been navigating uncertainty, and as we look to 2021, we see the acceleration of new technology, rethinking about the way we work and redefining our roles in society. My hope for 2021 is that spirit of co-operation, seen to flourish in lockdown, continues to benefit all business and people”.
