Transport Committee publishes Heathrow inquiry evidence – including TVCC submission

Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) has confirmed that its submission is among more than 70 pieces of written evidence published by the Transport Committee as part of its inquiry into the Government’s blueprint for a third runway at Heathrow.

The Committee is scrutinising the draft Heathrow Expansion National Policy Statement (HENPS), published by the Department for Transport in June 2026, with oral evidence sessions due to begin in September.

In its submission setting out support for the HENPS, TVCC invited the Transport Select Committee to recommend to the Government that it:

  • Recognises the compelling national case for Heathrow expansion and the economic, connectivity and employment benefits expansion will deliver across the UK.
  • Supports the draft HENPS as the appropriate planning policy framework for expansion.
  • Supports timely designation of the HENPS to provide the policy certainty needed to unlock investment and maintain momentum behind expansion.
  • Fully commits to the integrated and timely delivery of the Western Rail Link to Heathrow (WRLtH) scheme, ahead of projected passenger numbers overwhelming the transport network and ideally before construction impacts the M25.

All written submissions are now available to view on the Transport Committee website
