Reading School is proud to announce its new partnership with Royal Berks Charity, choosing it as the School’s Charity of the Year. The collaboration aims to support the hospital’s crucial work in providing vital healthcare services to our community while engaging students in meaningful charitable activities.
From September 2024, students, staff, and the wider school community of Reading School will participate in various fundraising and volunteer initiatives to support its neighbour, the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. The goal is to raise awareness and funds to assist in supporting patients within the neurology departments at both the Royal Berkshire Hospital and West Berkshire Community Hospital.
Deputy Headteacher of Reading School, Miss Lizzie Ayres has shared, “We are thrilled to support Royal Berks Charity as our Charity of the Year and this partnership is a fantastic opportunity for our students to continue to demonstrate our school values and ethos, which includes the importance of community service and giving back. Our school community is committed to making a positive impact in the local and wider area, and we are excited about the activities planned for the coming year.”
The partnership will feature a series of events and initiatives throughout the academic year which will include a series of student-led events to raise funds for the hospital. Students, parents, staff, alumni, and members of the community are encouraged to participate and support the school’s efforts. Contributions can be made through the school’s central fundraising page
Jo Warrior Charity Director at Royal Berks Charity commented, “We are delighted to have been chosen for this special partnership with Reading School as they celebrate their 900th year. Their commitment to supporting our cause will have a significant impact on the lives of those we serve. The partnership not only reflects the school’s commitment to making a positive difference in the community but also allows us to expand our reach and provide even greater support within the Trust. We look forward to working together to create lasting change”.
