Radio Listening Remains Strong Across the Thames Valley as Bauer Media Reaches Over 175,000 Weekly Listeners

Radio continues to play a vital role in connecting businesses with local audiences across the Thames Valley region.

The latest RAJAR Q3 2025 results reveal that Bauer Media’s Greatest Hits Radio and Hits Radio brands together reach over 175,000 weekly listeners across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and North Hampshire.

This demonstrates the enduring appeal of local radio — a trusted, cost-effective, and creative platform that enables advertisers to reach loyal, engaged audiences right across the region.

Local Listeners, Powerful Reach

Across the Thames Valley, Greatest Hits Radio Berkshire & North Hampshire, GHR Oxfordshire, Hits Radio Oxfordshire, and GHR Bucks, Beds & Herts deliver a combined 13.7 million listening hours each quarter.

GHR Berkshire & North Hampshire leads the region with 675,000 weekly listeners, 12.5% commercial market share, and an average of 11.1 hours of listening per week.

GHR Oxfordshire reaches 585,000 weekly listeners with 7.5% share, and an average listening time of 5.1 hours.

Hits Radio Oxfordshire connects with 214,000 weekly listeners, particularly within younger adult audiences.

GHR Bucks, Beds & Herts adds a further 246,000 weekly listeners and over 1.5 million listening hours.

The average listener is aged 45–54, with particularly high engagement among homeowners and main shoppers — key decision-makers for local advertisers.

From Reading to Oxford, Bicester to Banbury, and High Wycombe to Newbury, listeners continue to choose Bauer’s stations for their classic hits, trusted presenters, and community connection.
