Event Details
The Thames Valley is a national and international leader in health and life sciences (HLS). The Chamber is proud to host the only region-wide, curated industry working group for the sector, serving as a vital platform for collaboration, uniting global corporates, innovative SMEs, academic institutions, NHS trusts, and government stakeholders.
Inspired by a call from the Office for Life Sciences to strengthen the region’s HLS cluster, our ambition is to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and enhance the Thames Valley’s global reputation. The group’s value is recognised by government, through invitations to contribute to policy, including the Industrial Strategy white paper, and our ongoing lobbying on behalf of the sector. (See: HERE).
Recent and current national frameworks including the Life Sciences Sector Plan, the Industrial Strategy, and the NHS Long Term Plan for England: Fit for the Future underscore the critical importance of regional collaboration and industry insight. Health and life sciences remains a core focus within the government’s Industrial Strategy, reflecting the sector’s vital role as a driver of innovation and economic growth. In this evolving landscape, shaped by rapid technological advancement, shifting policy priorities, and complex healthcare challenges, the HLS Working Group (HLSWG) is dedicated to supporting innovation, investment, and skills development. Together with our members and partners, we are actively shaping the future of healthcare in the UK and beyond.
Agenda
In October, we will be discussing HealthTech: and how developments in digital technology (including artificial intelligence) are creating opportunities in healthcare, enabling personalised and precision medicines, and helping address some of the challenges being faced by the NHS. As we showcased at Windsor Debates in March 2025 digital technology and the HealthTech sub-sector especially are also key foundations for UK Growth. Joining us for a one-topic agenda and roundtable discussion are two eminent industry leaders. We are advising interested parties to confirm their place – early – to avoid disappointment.
