Thames Valley’s Health and Life Sciences Working Group

Incorporating the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) Workforce Development Partnership for Health and Life Sciences

Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce is proud to continue to host the Thames Valley’s only region-wide, curated, Health and Life Sciences working group.  Our industry-led group serves as a vital platform for collaboration, convening global corporates, innovative SMEs, academic institutions, and educational establishments (including LSIP partners), NHS trusts, government stakeholders, professional bodies, and pre-eminent thought leaders.

Through discussion, debate, knowledge exchange and information sharing, our working group considers the national policy issues, challenges, and opportunities, facing the sector.  It helps identify the commercial drivers and opportunities that ensure we position one of the UKs, and regions, truly global and key growth sectors, at the very heart of the government’s ambitions. We continue to maintain and lobby government to ensure they fully understand the contribution and ambition of the Thames Valley to be a key part of their solution, to deliver economic growth, position the UK as a science and technology super-power and deliver a Fit for the Future NHS.

Our November programme is themed around the topic of funding of life sciences and health care, from the earliest stages of drug and medical device development to the funding of innovation take up within the health services and the effective operations of the health system, including public-private partnership opportunities).  Speakers will be confirmed shortly.
