Malmesbury’s newest coworking and community space, Nook & Huddle, was officially opened on Monday 24th by the Mayor of Malmesbury, Cllr Phil Exton, marking an exciting milestone for local businesses, freelancers, and hybrid workers.
Following a hugely successful open day on 20th March, which welcomed over 40 visitors eager to explore the space, Nook & Huddle is now fully open for business. The innovative coworking hub, based in the beautifully restored historic library building, offers flexible workspaces designed to give small businesses a high street presence while fostering creativity, collaboration, and community.
Founder Sara Harrod expressed her excitement about the launch:
Nook & Huddle is all about bringing people together—whether you’re a freelancer looking for a productive space, a small business needing visibility, or someone who just wants to get out of the home office and work alongside others. The response so far has been incredible, and I’m thrilled to see this vision come to life.
The Mayor of Malmesbury, praised the initiative, saying:
Supporting local businesses is at the heart of our town’s future, and Nook & Huddle is a fantastic addition to Malmesbury. This space will provide vital support for our entrepreneurs and freelancers, helping them thrive in a collaborative environment.
With more people embracing flexible and remote working, Nook & Huddle aims to bridge the gap between home offices and traditional workplaces. The space has been carefully designed to create an inspiring and professional environment where people can work productively while connecting with like-minded individuals.
Sara Harrod, who has a background in brand and marketing consultancy with her business No Name. Extra Brain, saw a real need for a space that goes beyond just desks and WiFi. “I wanted to create something that truly supports local businesses—whether through networking opportunities, workshops, or simply providing an affordable and welcoming place to work. It’s all about making meaningful connections and ensuring that independent businesses and home workers have the support they need to thrive.”
