It’s Not Just Data Centres: Networks Are Critical Infrastructure, Too

Investing in Data Centres (DCs) is critical, but keeping them connected is just as important.  DC’s have become just as essential to society as water treatment facilities and power plants, evidence most recently by the UK government designating DCs as critical national infrastructure.

However, in this blog, Bruce Owen, President EMEA at Equinix highlights that it’s important to recognize that DCs are only one piece of the digital infrastructure equation, and they don’t operate as data islands. He outlines that our digital world is inherently interconnected, and many of the applications we rely on don’t run out of a single DC – requiring a resilient network infrastructure to enable our connected society.
