Confirming its ongoing commitment to the Thames Valley business community, Heathrow has become the headline sponsor for the Chamber’s popular annual awards. Set to take to place on the 27 June at the Reading Hilton, the awards recognise the talents, innovation and entrepreneurship of companies from across the region.
Generate UK, Grundon, MD2MD and Segro are also proudly supporting the awards.
Heathrow’s Community and Stakeholder Director, Rob Gray, said:
“Heathrow is proud to work alongside such a strong business community in the Thames Valley. Local businesses play an important part in our supply chain and have been crucial in making Heathrow one of the best airports in the world.
“Through annual Heathrow Business Summits and various exporting support programmes including the ‘World of Opportunity’ grant, we aim to connect local businesses to sustainable growth. With Heathrow expansion on the horizon, there will be further opportunities to work more closely together and grow our business network.
“Recognising the achievements and significant contribution local businesses make to the community and wider UK economy is something worth celebrating. We look forward to a great evening with greater talent.”
Gavin Spencer, Head of Membership commented:
“Last year’s awards were a phenomenal success and 2019 look set to be ever bigger and better. We have added new categories, increasing the total number to 12, and still include the incredibly popular Thames Valley Business of the Year, which was inundated with responses, and was ultimately won by West Berkshire based Westcoast.
“The awards continually showcase the best of the Thames Valley and everything it has to offer. More recently, we were joined by the wider business community at Ascot Racecourse, when we officially opened the awards for companies to enter. Showcasing key sponsors, the launch not only confirmed award categories available, but was also the ideal opportunity for members and non-members alike to speak to previous winners, find out further details about the entry process and ensure their application stood out from the competition.”
As in the previous year, winners will automatically enter the national British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) awards. Now in their 16th year they celebrate the role of ‘business in delivering growth and prosperity for the UK and local communities’. In 2018, four Thames Valley based businesses reached the national stages: Vail Williams LLP; eLearning Marketplace; Slough Aspire CIC and Generate UK.
