Health and Life Sciences Working Group Hears From Distinguished Experts

The Chambers’ Health and Life Sciences Working Group (HLSWG) recently convened for another successful event, kindly hosted at Green Park, Reading, and sponsored by James Cowper Kreston.

Once again the Group brought together distinguished experts and stakeholders from the health and life sciences sector to deliberate on innovative strategies and collaborative efforts.

Attendees heard from a number of speakers:

Laura Holland, Director of Strategic Marketing at the Rosalind Franklin Institute, delivered an enlightening presentation on the institute’s renewed science strategy, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and translation programmes.

Michalis Papadakis, CEO of Brainomix, shared the compelling success story of Brainomix’s AI-powered medical imaging platform, discussing the challenges faced and prospects.

Dr Amit Sharma, Partner at Brookfield Group Practice, who provided a comprehensive overview of the work supported by Yuan Yang, MP, for community healthcare opportunities to support NHS three strategic shifts as per the Darzi report echoing much of the sentiment following our March Windsor Debates.

Open discussions welcomed comments regarding the work of agritech as a lively and important part of the Health and Life Sciences ecosystem, as well as opportunities for members to better involve themselves with the work of universities.

Sue Staunton, Chair, HLSWG said:

The meeting demonstrated the breadth and depth of the sector within the Thames Valley and the considerable combined force of knowledge available to be harnessed to support the drive of the life science element of the Industrial Strategy.

The HLSWG meets regularly throughout the year and comments on a range of HLS related policy.
