Generate UK, a full-service digital marketing agency, have been delighted to welcome the first Newbury College students to our Marketing Academy – a work experience placement programme designed to provide local young people with the opportunity to explore their skills and kick-start their digital careers.
The Marketing Academy allows students to work with Generate UK on a flexible basis as part of their study or as a work placement. Generate UK’s award-winning team have worked closely with the students to show them how to develop skills and access the best marketing, design and development tools in order to achieve high quality work.
The Generate UK Marketing Academy was initially launched in February 2020 to enable students who have a passion for digital marketing, design or business administration to receive first-hand experience of working within a marketing environment. However, COVID-19 restrictions have meant students have had to wait until November 2020 to begin their placements.
Generate UK’s Managing Director, Joe Baily was once a student at Newbury College. His time there helped to shape his career and has inspired him to offer this starting point and support to others.
Of the arrival of the first students to the Generate UK Marketing Academy, Joe Baily said, “This began as an idea in early 2019 so it is incredibly exciting that we have managed to get this off the ground despite the challenges this year has given us all.
We had hoped that this would provide new and exciting opportunities for the students involved and it has, but it has become so much more than that. We have gained as an organisation as a result of the insight and ideas that the students have brought to us. The first cohort has been a success and we are looking forward to welcoming more students back in the New Year.’
