FSP advises on the sale of Horseman Coaches

The Corporate team at Field Seymour Parkes were delighted to advise the shareholders on the sale of the entire issued share capital of Horseman Coaches Limited to The Coach Travel Group Limited.

Horseman Coaches is a family run business which was established in 1977. It operates as a leading private coach hire provider covering Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead and West Berkshire. Over the years it has grown and built up a strong reputation and now carries more than 9,000 passengers every day and has a modern fleet of 60 coaches.

The Coach Travel Group Limited (“TCTG”) was formed in June 2024 by the strategic merger of Alpine Travel, Barnes Coaches, Coatham Coaches, JH Coaches, Johnsons Coaches, The Ready Group, Swans Travel and Whittles. TCTG now employs approximately 700 staff and operates a fleet of over 450 vehicles.

James Horseman, the Managing Director of Horseman Coaches commented on the transaction: “The move is a major milestone for everyone at Horseman Coaches and marks another step in The Coach Travel Group’s commitment to the UK coach travel industry.”

“While we are now part of a national group, the business has been built by coach companies who all share common values and a commitment to maintaining the high levels of personal service and quality. We will not lose the essence of what made us a successful family-run business.”

James Horseman further commented on the FSP team: “Both Kristina and I have been delighted with the service provided by the FSP team. Their advice was clear and concise when navigating through often complex legal matters and we are thankful to all of them for bringing this transaction to a successful completion. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else on a similar process.”

The team at FSP was led by Corporate Partner Jeremy Parkes with support from Ross Brymer (Associate, Corporate), Philip Stephenson (Partner, Corporate), Richard Higgs (Partner, Real Estate) and Dan Barnhouse (Legal Director, Banking)
