New Wave Learning & The Culturevators run by Sarah Dena, delivered a dynamic workshop in collaboration with Tracy Marland from Social Butterfly Digital UK designed to empower local business owners in Swindon to overcome their discomfort with social media visibility.
Using the transformative Emotional Culture Deck, attendees confronted their fears and discovered how to start being on camera with confidence and authenticity.
The workshop encouraged participants to explore two critical aspects: how they feel about stepping in front of the camera and, more importantly, how they want their audience to feel when they put out video content.
By shifting the focus from internal anxieties to the emotions they aim to evoke in their viewers, attendees unlocked a game-changing perspective… and acted upon it!
The results were instant. Inspired by the workshop, some participants posted their first videos the same day—a testament to the empowering tools and insights shared.
Tracy Marland, MCIM, a seasoned social media strategist, shared her reflections on the event:
“It’s emotions, more than anything, that often stop us from showing up on camera. But when we focus on the feelings we want to create for our audience, everything shifts. Understanding our emotions, gaining the right tools, and embracing discomfort can pave the way to confident visibility.”
For business leaders and professionals struggling with visibility on video, the takeaway is clear: confidence on camera isn’t about rehearsed lines or perfect lighting—it’s about connection.
Sarah Dena, Co-Founder of the The Culturevators & MD at New Wave Learning said
I got over my own reluctance to being on video when I shifted the focus from how I felt about doing the video to what I want my clients to feel when they see it. I still get nerves, and that’s good for performance but I regulate them by focusing on how I want my client to feel.
If you or your team want to shift from feeling uncertain, afraid, stuck or overwhelmed by the thought of being on video and you’re feeling curious about learning how to show up authentically whilst managing the nerves, the Be Confidently Visible workshop is here to help. With practical techniques and a supportive environment, you’ll leave ready to engage your audience, amplify your voice and excited about using video to boost your results in your marketing.
