Dexter Montague LLP working together with the University of Reading

Dexter Montague LLP is proud to announce its collaboration with the University of Reading on an applied legal research project undertaken as part of the University’s new MLaw degree course.

Tony Roe, Family Law Partner at Dexter Montague LLP and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading, played a key role in strengthening the firm’s valued relationship with the University. As part of the MLaw programme, students are required to complete a substantial 10,000-word piece of applied legal research addressing a realistic, contemporary, client-based problem.

Dexter Montague LLP commissioned the project entitled “AI, Access to Justice and the High Street Law Firm”, which explored the evolving role of artificial intelligence in improving accessibility and efficiency within legal services.

Students Alice Gatfield, Julie Kulczewska, and Thomas Bocon successfully completed and presented their report to Tony Roe and Bill Montague last month.

Tony Roe commented:

“We were delighted to work with these hard-working students on this fascinating project. Their research provided valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges that AI presents for high street law firms. We wish them every success with their future careers.”

The collaboration highlights Dexter Montague LLP’s ongoing commitment to supporting legal education and innovation, bridging the gap between academia and practice.
