Northwood couple Chris and Louise Spencer (real names withheld at own request) were overjoyed to receive a life changing phone call just in time for Christmas.
Henley-on-Thames firm and Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce members European Consumer Claims (ECC) won a compensation claim against Marriott Vacation Club timeshare company and the judge awarded a staggering £133,000 in compensation to the mis-sold Greater Londoners.
The Spencers were not the only huge award recipients In December. Mike and Vicky Turner from Brentwood were awarded £103,000 plus legal fees and costs, again just in time for Christmas.
December is traditionally a quiet month (relative to the rest of the year) in the claims business. Nevertheless a further £151,398 was awarded to five other ECC clients.
“This is momentous money,” says ECC CEO and philanthropist Andrew Cooper. “Timeshare companies have been ignoring consumer law for decades, and today’s judges are making them pay heavily.
“With several group actions against some of Europe’s biggest timeshare companies ongoing, 2024 looks to be the most successful yet for ECC clients.
“Right now is the perfect time to claim compensation if you believe you have been mis-sold a timeshare.”
