Chamber welcomes Yuan Yang MP to Political Working Lunch

Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) recently welcomed Yuan Yang, Member of Parliament for Earley and Woodley, to its latest Political Working Lunch. The event, held at The Holiday Inn Reading, was chaired by Sue Staunton, Managing Partner at James Cowper Kreston and Chair of TVCC’s Health and Life Sciences Working Group.

Yuan spoke on a range of local and national priorities. She highlighted the Labour Government’s approach to relations with Europe, the importance of long-term infrastructure planning, and the skills and training needed to support workforce growth.

Attendees also raised questions on areas such as the Industrial Strategy, exploring how national policy will translate into opportunities and challenges for businesses in Earley and Woodley.

Reflecting on the event, Yuan Yang MP said:

It was a pleasure to be invited by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce to speak to local businesses in my constituency and discuss the government direction on infrastructure, skills, and healthcare. It was very insightful to hear local businesses share their industry-led perspectives.

The Political Working Lunch series continues to provide a platform for open conversation between the business community and political representatives, helping to ensure that the views of Thames Valley businesses are heard at both local and national levels.
