Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) recently welcomed Sarah Green, Member of Parliament for Chesham and Amersham, to its latest Political Working Lunch, held at De Vere Latimer Estate.
During the discussion, Sarah spoke about a range of local and national priorities. She highlighted the need for continued investment in skills and the future workforce, as well as the importance of international trade for businesses across Buckinghamshire and the wider Thames Valley. She also emphasised the value of cross-party parliamentary forums, including select committees and All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs).
Attendees raised questions on a number of current policy issues, including the recent consultation on international students and how women can be better represented in both business and politics.
Reflecting on the event, Sarah Green MP said:
“It was a pleasure to join the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce to speak with local businesses from across the constituency. Our discussion on infrastructure, skills and investment was extremely valuable, and it was insightful to hear directly from businesses about the opportunities and challenges facing their industries.”
The Political Working Lunch series continues to provide a platform for open conversation between the business community and political representatives, helping to ensure that the views of Thames Valley businesses are heard at both local and national levels.
