The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) recently undertook a comprehensive Trade Policy Survey of its members, with the purpose of providing an understanding of the exporter/importer challenges currently being faced by the Thames Valley business community.
The high-level results of the Survey have now been published and provide an invaluable source of primary information to inform the wider policy work of the Chamber.
The specific nature of this survey is a first for the Chamber since Britain left the EU, with in-depth data covering businesses’ experience to specific, current day, challenges such as the post BREXIT economy where additional paperwork, disruption and time taken at borders, supply chain issues and more have been recorded as having an impact. This survey complements the Quarterly Economic Survey.
Paul Britton, Chief Executive of TVCC comments,
“This publication serves the critical function of informing and shaping our response to the challenges facing trading businesses. Growing exports and helping local businesses to internationalise remains a top priority for the Chamber and this report helps to illustrate what we must lobby policy makers in Government on, and how we play our part to help overcome these challenges, and help mitigate the impact they have had on aspiring Thames Valley business.”
