14th February 2019

Paul Britton, CEO of Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce was recently invited to present to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Western Rail Link to Heathrow (WRLtH), which met in Westminster to continue its case for the delivery of the rail scheme.

Sir John Armitt, Chair of the National Infrastructure Commission was the guest speaker, with stakeholders in attendance including LEPs, Local Authorities and the businesses community. The meeting also offered cross-party parliamentarians the opportunity to show support for the project.

Following the meeting, Paul Britton commented:

“The Chamber is working to provide a business solution on securing delivery of the Western Rail Link to Heathrow; indeed, it is a key priority of the Chamber’s Business Manifesto and Local Policy Priorities. This event provided an opportunity to reaffirm its importance to the Chamber, its membership and the wider Thames Valley business community and to emphasise the lasting benefits it will bring to the South and South-west of England, Wales and the Midlands. Our commitment is to continue to work with the Local Enterprise Partnerships, our partners and members to progress this important project and ensure it doesn’t fall off the agenda.”
