Chamber member wins initiative award for going to extraordinary lengths during pandemic

TVCC member at Aston & James, Darren Aston, along with his team won the ‘Keep It Local Community Initiative Award’, at the Nemo Office Club 2022 Awards.

The award was presented at a black-tie gala evening, following ‘The Back Together Again’ conference. The awards ceremony took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon and Director of Furniture Craig Aston, and Business Development Manager Cheryl Aston, collected the award as part of the family-run business.

Aston & James were acknowledged as going to extraordinary lengths to play a leading role in improving the lives of those within their local community. Darren said, “I’m delighted to have won the ‘Community Initiative Award’, it’s rewarding to be recognised for the ways we adapted the business during the circumstances we’ve all faced over the last 2 years”

Aston & James have won numerous awards over the past 7 years including The ‘TVCC Family Business of The Year 2019’ and the ‘TVCC Oxfordshire Business Hero Award 2020’ for working, helping, and supporting our own communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Established in 1990, starting as a small entrepreneurial venture to now employing 19 staff across various business functions, the family business has built a wealth of experience, knowledge, and an outstanding reputation through working with local businesses, organisations, and places of education.
