Chamber launches Thames Valley Business Sustainability Checklist

Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce has today launched the Thames Valley Business Sustainability Checklist, a document which takes a practical approach to the climate change issues affecting business,  especially SMEs, helping companies in their effort in addressing the climate change. The document sets out a specific focus on decarbonisation and net-zero of sustainability,

With practicality at its core and compatibility based on the particular company, their circumstance, relevance, sector and size, the Checklist can be utilised by any business, looking to join the net-zero revolution and either start on, or advance, their journey along the pathway to net-zero.

The Checklist has been developed by the Sustainability Working Group (SWG), a business-led roundtable of companies, academic institutions and industry leaders, all of whom are located in the Thames Valley. It has been created with the acknowledgement of the three broad pillars of sustainability – Environment, Social and Governance, but with the appetite and ambition to collectively take action to leave tomorrow’s world, and our Thames Valley region, in far better health.

Paul Britton, CEO, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce said “The SWG’s Sustainability Checklist is an all-encompassing document which helps to not only understand the climate challenge, but also provides practical advice and information towards tackling it, such as setting goals and creating actions plans.

Collective experience facilitates collective action – good practice shared by larger corporates or industry leaders showcase what is possible, provide us with ideas on actions which can be taken and a standard upon which we can compare, contrast, or improve on”.
