The Chamber celebrated the launch of its newest Trade Desk, the India Desk, at an event at The Roseate Reading, on Friday 13th February.
Following a welcome by Chamber CEO Paul Britton, the keynote was delivered by BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO, Niti Aayog. Paul then facilitated a fireside chat with BVR Subrahmanyam, Mrs Nidhi Mani Tripathi, Minister (Economics), High Commission of India in the UK and John Austin-Sheridan, India Country Lead, FTA Utilisation, DBT.
Complementing the two current Trade Desks – the Japan Desk and the Romania Desk – the India Desk is a dedicated service designed to support UK businesses exploring opportunities in India and to help Indian companies invest and expand in the Thames Valley region.
Providing specialist, practical support to organisations seeking to understand and operate in one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, services will include market entry guidance, regulatory and trade support, investment facilitation, sector insights, and strategic introductions across both markets. There will also be a focus on priority sectors for UK–India collaboration and businesses will be provided with curated market intelligence, trade updates, and trusted connections to government and industry partners.
Speaking at the launch, Paul said: “I am delighted to celebrate another big moment for the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce – the launch of our India Desk.
The Thames Valley is one of the most vibrant international business communities in the UK and initiatives like the India Desk will provide the know-how and confidence to help more businesses to explore the India market, to start their export journey, to be more resilient and more productive”.
