Broadfield advises CyberCrowd on sale to Limerston Capital

The international law firm Broadfield has advised cyber security services specialist CyberCrowd on its sale to the private equity firm Limerston Capital.

The acquisition of the Newbury-based business will see Limerston Capital build on an earlier acquisition and create a new cyber security and digital forensic services platform for public and private sector organisations.

CyberCrowd is recognised as a cyber security market leader offering services that include Pen Testing, CISOaaS, certification readiness, DPA services, training and awareness, incident response and a 24-7, 365-managed security operations centre.

The new group will enable CyberCrowd to continue to grow and strengthen its services whilst bringing its customers advanced digital forensic capabilities, e-discovery solutions and proprietary forensic case management software.

The Broadfield team was led by Managing Partner John Hutchinson, Partner Stephanie Perry (Corporate), Partner Philip Alfandary (Corporate tax), Partner Sarah Potter (Commercial Property), Senior Associate Michelle Gorman (Corporate), Solicitor Katie Higgs (Corporate) and Senior Associate Asten Hawkes (Employment).

John Hutchinson said: “Cyber security has never been more vital, and we are delighted to have advised CyberCrowd on this important milestone in its growth journey and sale to Limerston Capital. It is a significant deal for CyberCrowd that will see it grow and offer its customers new services whilst enabling Limerston Capital to build a new best-in-class cyber security platform.

Mike Robinson, Managing Director at CyberCrowd said: “It’s great to be part of a business that helps make our customers safer and more secure. We have achieved this by building a business that our staff are proud to be part of, one that we’re pleased will continue over the coming years as we work on new objectives with Limerston.

“We are enormously grateful to the team at Broadfield for their support throughout this sale. It has been good to know we were in safe and secure hands when it mattered most in getting this deal done.”

Limerston Capital continues to explore additional opportunities for expansion in the cyber security market.
