Berkshire Youth’s Christmas Wish Tree Comes to The Heart of Newbury

Berkshire Youth is delighted to announce this year’s Christmas Wish Tree campaign, inviting businesses and residents to sponsor a decoration.

For the first time, in partnership with Newbury BID, Berkshire Youth’s Christmas Wish Tree will be situated in Newbury’s Market Place giving local young people’s wishes centre stage in the community this Christmas.

For the past two years, Berkshire Youth has invited local businesses and individuals to help make Christmas wishes come true for local children, young people and young carers. Wishes have ranged from a hot chocolate or a new school bag to a trip to the panto or a mountain bike.

Every young person deserves to feel valued, included and able to enjoy the experiences that others may take for granted. When money is tight, support is missing or caring responsibilities leave little time to be young, those opportunities can be harder to come by.

The Christmas Wish Tree will be on display in Newbury’s Market Place from Wednesday 11th November, and we’re inviting businesses and residents to start granting wishes now.

Sarah Emery, CEO, Berkshire Youth said:

We’re delighted that the Christmas Wish Tree will have such a special place at the heart of Newbury this year. It puts young people at the centre of our town’s Christmas celebrations and gives everyone a chance to get involved

Each sponsorship will be represented by a tree decoration featuring the business’s logo or the family’s or individual’s name. Supporters will also be celebrated online and across Berkshire Youth’s social media channels.

Local business Apple Print & Creative (AP&C) is supporting the campaign by helping to produce the tree decorations, bringing this community show of support to life.

“We’re delighted to be working with Berkshire Youth to bring the Christmas Wish Tree to the Market Place. Our town centre brings businesses, residents and visitors together, and this is a lovely way to turn that community spirit into something practical for local young people. We hope businesses and families across Newbury will get involved and help fill the tree with decorations that each represent an act of kindness.” – Richard Farley, Newbury BID Manager

Everyone is welcome to take part, whether by making a personal donation, joining together with friends and family, organising a workplace collection or sponsoring through a business.
The Christmas Wish Tree also marks the launch of Berkshire Youth’s wider ‘Building a better future’ campaign, bringing businesses and communities together to create more opportunities for young people.

As part of its ‘Building a better future’ campaign, Berkshire Youth will also host a Christmas showcase for local businesses and organisations at the Waterside Centre in Newbury on Thursday 10 December 2026. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the charity’s work and explore how they can help build a better future for local young people through partnerships, fundraising and practical support.
