Thames Valley law firm B P Collins has opened a new office for the first time in the heart of Thame, Oxfordshire. Local lawyer and employment partner, Jo Davis will head up the team.
Practising for over 30 years, Jo acts for both individual employees and employers in all aspects of employment law. A regular on BBC Radio Oxford, she specialises in senior executive appointments and departures, tribunal and High Court disputes. Jo has also established a strong reputation in advising on Covid-19 related employment issues and in the field of age discrimination, winning a landmark age discrimination case in the Supreme Court.
Jo is joined by Lucy Wood, B P Collins’ wills, trust and probate partner, who specialises in helping people to plan for the future. Lucy was awarded Lawyer of the Year by the Bucks, Berks and Oxon Law Society in recognition of the high standard of service she provides to her clients. She was brought up in Thame and continues to live in the town.
Joining them is James Constable, a criminal law expert, who specialises in motoring offences, mental health law and professional discipline. He offers the added benefit of being a solicitor advocate meaning he can work with clients from the beginning of a case right through to representing clients in court proceedings if required, so there is one point of contact, and support throughout.
Shortlisted for the Thames Valley Property Awards last year, B P Collins’ property team will also be present in Thame, advising people on buying or selling their home, right through to site development opportunities, with the capacity and resources to handle matters swiftly and efficiently.
Ranked top tier by independent legal directories, people from around Thame will also have access to B P Collins’ family team of lawyers who have extensive experience in advising on relationship breakdowns, co-habitation agreements, child arrangements and modern parenting agreements.
Jo Davis, B P Collins says: “We have advised clients in and around Thame for many years, so establishing an office in the town seemed the obvious next step. We have a number of lawyers living in Thame and, Oxfordshire more generally, and we look forward to cementing old relationships, building new ones and helping the people in the area through any legal issues, whether they be personal or business related.”
Lucy Wood, wills, trust and probate partner says: “Thame is a great location and we are looking forward to welcoming all of our clients, and new contacts here. I know Thame extremely well, after being born and raised in the town and continue to live here, so I’m delighted to have the opportunity to advise people in the local area.”
James Constable, criminal lawyer adds: “We pride ourselves on our relationships with clients; and by being closer to them in Thame and Oxfordshire, we are set to strengthen these even further. We can still advise people virtually, but as restrictions start to ease, we are right in the heart of the town, so people can have face to face meetings if they choose.”
The team will also be joined by Thames Valley Air Ambulance FC player and local charity fundraiser, Steve Perry, who is B P Collins’ business development manager.
The new B P Collins’ office is based at OX9, 13 Upper High St, Thame.
