On Friday 5 September, more than 200 guests gathered in the picturesque village of Ramsbury, near Marlborough, for a spectacular garden party in support of Prospect Hospice. Against a backdrop of late-summer blooms and rolling countryside, the evening raised an extraordinary £50,000 to help fund local hospice care.
Organised by a devoted group of supporters, Ramsbury Friends of Prospect Hospice, and hosted in one of Ramsbury’s beautiful private gardens, the event brimmed with warmth and generosity. Kind September weather allowed a full night of laughter and spirit. A silent auction of exceptional prizes captured imaginations, with every penny of the proceeds going directly to Prospect Hospice.
Thompsons Refurbishments Ltd were the lead sponsor of the evening. Brothers Lucas and Jude Thompson, who run the third-generation business, attended alongside their mother, Madeleine, joining guests in celebrating and championing the hospice’s vital work. The charity is also grateful to the dozens of other businesses in the area that donated.
“These continue to be challenging times for the hospice sector due to a funding model that an All-Party Parliamentary Group have identified as “not fit for purpose”. Until that model changes, Prospect Hospice can only do what we do with the generous support of the community that we serve. Thompsons’ sponsorship of this incredible event is the perfect example of that. Without the generosity of Lucas, Jude and Madeleine, the event would not have raised as much as it did, and their kindness is making a genuine difference to the lives of others.”
Thompsons Refurbishments Ltd is renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, timeless design and meticulous execution. Their generous support helped make this memorable evening such a resounding success.
