What is ICC Genesis?
ICC Genesis is a cutting-edge digital trade tool designed to verify and certify preferential origin declarations made by exporters within the framework of FTAs. This platform aims to reduce mistakes, prevent fraud, and lower the risk of fines for importers. Additionally, ICC Genesis facilitates smoother customs checks of origin declarations and simplifies customs control procedures.
The need for ICC Genesis
According to the WCO Study on the Digitalisation of Certificates of Origin, released in June 2023, it was noted that there is a low level of knowledge about the requirements for self-certification, resulting in higher irregularity/error rates. The development of an online system for the declaration of origin can be very effective in enabling importing customs to quickly and easily verify that a declaration/certification was made by the stated entity and has not been altered.
How It Works
Exporters can contact us and request us to verify and certify their invoice declarations, providing all necessary supporting documents to prove eligibility for preferential origin.
We ask all exporters to register on ICC Genesis Gateway and submit their invoice origin declarations for verification and certification. Once certified, importers and importing customs can verify the authenticity of the certification on the ICC Genesis Gateway verification platform.
