
More Carrot, Less Stick!
The Government’s changes to the requirement to demonstrate a sufficient five-year housing land supply in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) are having immediate consequences.
In short, the new NPPF now means that those authorities with an up-to-date plan will no longer be required to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply, and those that have published a Regulation 18 or Regulation 19 Local Plan will now only be required to demonstrate a four-year housing land supply.
