This year sees the return of the ever popular Newbury Show to your event calendar. Organisers expect over 50,000 visitors to the show for a festival of food, fun and farming. The show is organised and run by the Newbury and District Agricultural Society who have recently joined the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce. Located as it is in the heart of the Thames Valley at the junction of the M4 and A34, it is not only the perfect day out for the family but a chance to do business too. We would like to welcome fellow members to be part of the show this year and help ensure it continues on for generations to come.
For local farmers it is where they all get to meet up and unwind after a gruelling harvest and for others it a chance to associate their brand with a huge community event. The show is a celebration of the countryside and rural skills not mention a chance to check out the latest Land Rover (this year the show celebrates 75 years of the Defender), sample a new Gin or pick up some Christmas gifts from the popular food or craft tent.
There are still several opportunities to get involved with the show either by booking a tradestand or as a sponsor. Sponsorship starts at £150 to sponsor a cattle class through to many thousands to sponsor an entire area or event. The show is a chance to get your brand in front of an audience who enjoy life, have money to spend and want to support local businesses. Sponsorship includes everything from tickets and banners through to the chance to award prizes for best-in-class cattle. You can entertain clients with their whole family and let the children clamber into a giant Combine Harvester while you do the serious networking or just have fun.
As part of its remit to educate the local community in rural crafts and skills the show hosts a forge Marquee. This is where live demonstrations by blacksmiths and competitions for students take place all weekend. The show is looking for a partner to sponsor the prizes which will be made up of tools and equipment to support their careers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to align your brand with a traditional skill that goes back thousands of years. You will be key to the development of the next generation of craftsmen and women and also have the chance to hand over the prizes. The Forge is one of my favourite exhibits because it always busy and noisy with the banging of hammers on metal and the glow of fires. Sponsors will have banners in the marquee, announcements, tickets and the prize giving”, said Jim Chetwode head of sponsorships.
