The Thames Valley Skills Unit is a team dedicated to skills and workforce development in the Chamber.
We work on behalf of local employers to ensure that education and training providers are delivering skills and training that will improve the local economy and productivity.
To do this we:
- Provide information to help local education and training providers design and improve courses
- Build connections between business and education
- Signpost and promote training and workforce development opportunities for employers and local people

Local Skills Improvement Plans
The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce represents the voice of industry, business as part of a national Chamber network delivering the majority of Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs). In Oxfordshire and Berkshire we have reached over 1,000 employers developing meaningful engagement with them.
We are using our reach to establish long term relationships between local businesses and training providers to encourage co-development of practical solutions to local skills challenges. Employers views are our guiding compass as we look to tackle skills, workforce development and recruitment issues within Berkshire. Our approach is grounded in pragmatism as we look to identify tangible solutions to positively impact the local employment landscape.
