An Oxford startup is offering businesses faster, tailored access to academic researchers and their ideas from across UK universities.
‘Smarter’ is a new, online matchmaking platform which will be piloted this Summer. Businesses will be able to post requests for connections with academics, specifying the type of expertise required, the intended end result, and the duration of any partnership sought.
Unlike other digital efforts to bridge the divide between the sectors, ‘Smarter’ requests will be seen and responded to by expert ‘knowledge brokers’ within Universities, increasing the prospects for useful – and only useful – introductions being made.
‘Smarter’ is an initiative of Smarter Knowledge Exchange Ltd., a company founded by Rich Young, an ex-Civil Servant, with experience of transforming knowledge exchange in Government. Companies interested to hear more about the proposed platform and pilot should email enquiries@smarterke.com for further details.
