Thames Valley Businesses to Get Expert Verdict on Autumn Budget

On 30th October, businesses across the Thames Valley are being invited to gather for a breakfast briefing with the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) and three tax experts from Monahans, following the Government’s Autumn Budget.

Taking place at The National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon, the Budget Briefing for Growth: Setting the Economic Agenda event will bring together business leaders and advisers to consider the issues shaping the UK economy and the direction of Government policy.

The Chancellor’s first Budget under the new Prime Minister is expected to provide an important indication of the Government’s economic priorities. However, the event will move beyond the headlines to explore the practical implications for businesses, with discussion covering areas including taxation and business finance, employment and workforce considerations, investment and growth incentives, business confidence and the wider economic outlook.

Dominic Bourquin, tax Partner at Monahans, said:

The Budget will be an important moment for businesses, but understanding what the announcements mean in practice will be just as important as the announcements themselves. This event is an opportunity for businesses of all sizes to consider the implications and identify the areas that businesses should be thinking about as they plan for the year ahead

Stephanie Hurst, tax Director at Monahans, added:

There are a number of issues that businesses will be watching closely, from taxation and business costs to investment, recruitment and the wider prospects for growth. We want the session to be practical and useful, helping businesses understand not just what the Budget means, but how they can respond to the opportunities and challenges that may emerge

Dominic and Stephanie will also be joined by Steph Parker, Monahans’ new private client partner, who advises high net worth individuals, families and entrepreneurs on complex tax and succession planning matters for her take on the Budget changes.

Tim Major, Senior Account Manager, TVCC, said:

We’re delighted to be working with Monahans on what promises to be a particularly relevant and timely briefing for businesses across the Thames Valley. Bringing businesses together to hear from experienced advisers and discuss the issues affecting them is a valuable part of the Chamber’s role

The event will begin with networking, refreshments and an introduction from Tim Major, before the Monahans experts deliver a comprehensive briefing on the Budget and its potential implications.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to put their questions directly to the speakers during an interactive Q&A and discussion. For businesses planning for growth, managing costs, investing in people or navigating economic uncertainty, the briefing will provide an opportunity to gain expert insight and consider what the Budget could mean for the months ahead.

The event will take place from 9.30am to 11.30am on Friday 30 October at NSBRC, Lydiard Fields, Swindon and bookings can be made here
