Government funding for insulation, domestic retrofit and solar professionals
With less than a month left to take advantage of green skills courses part-funded through the Government’s Warm Homes Skills Programme, Chamber member The Verdancy Group is urging businesses not to miss out.
The Verdancy Group was selected by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to deliver a range of courses designed to support businesses upskill their workforces.
The programme provides subsidised training opportunities for installers and retrofit professionals including installing insulation and solar panels in homes and non-domestic properties.
Steven Kiakowski, Director of Green Skills at The Verdancy Group, said:
“These courses are designed to will build competence and capacity in the retrofit supply chain helping businesses upskill staff, achieve PAS 2035 and MCS compliance, and support warmer, greener homes. “Funding is available until the end of July, and I would urge businesses in Thames Valley to get in contact and take advantage of this amazing opportunity.”
Phil Grant, Account Manager for Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, recently visited Apex Training Centre as it celebrated it one-year anniversary.
He said: “The Apex Training Centre event was a great reminder that when opportunity is matched with the right support, incredible things can happen. What stood out most was the determination, resilience and talent in the room, and the dedication of the team helping people build confidence, develop skills and take positive steps towards their future.

The group’s Apex Training Centre, based at the Intec Business Park in Basingstoke, is running the following courses with at least 50% funded until 31 July:
• LCL Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar PV Systems
• NOCN Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit
• NOCN Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Insulation and Building Treatments
