Saffery, a leading accountancy and business advisory firm in High Wycombe, is proud to announce that its team of 54 people has raised an impressive £10,000 in total for Heart of Bucks over the past four years. The community foundation distributes grants to grassroots organisations, community groups and charities to address some of Buckinghamshire’s most pressing social challenges, tackle disadvantage and create opportunities for those most in need.
Saffery’s total was raised through a range of activities, including bake sales, participating in crazy golf, bingo, raffles, biscuit decorating and quizzes. Fundraising efforts were also boosted by a member of staff who completed the Spartan Trifecta challenge.
Andrew Watkinson, Saffery’s Senior Partner said:
After advising clients in Buckinghamshire and beyond for nearly 40 years, supporting our local community is very important to Saffery. Huge thanks to the team which has contributed to this fantastic achievement, their generosity and enthusiasm shown throughout our fundraising efforts is very much appreciated
Donation impact
The charities and community groups supported by Saffery through its fundraising efforts for the Heart of Bucks’ Community Investor Fund, range from cancer support organisations and children’s play parks to service dog programmes for veterans, as well as many other community initiatives. Heart and Soul Hub CIC, for example, utilised its grant to create a community garden and allotment at its base in Wycombe Airpark, providing a therapeutic outdoor space for adults recovering from mental illness. Missenden Walled Garden, which provides vital support to adults with learning disabilities, also benefitted. Following a break-in, an emergency grant from the Fund enabled it to cover its immediate losses.
Henry Allmand, Chief Executive of Heart of Bucks added:
We are very grateful to the entire team at Saffery for their generous support. It is clear to see how it is making meaningful difference to its local communities and supporting those in Buckinghamshire who need it most.
Saffery remains committed to supporting local causes that make a positive difference across Buckinghamshire and the Thames Valley.
