International Women’s Day impact

In March Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) organised an International Women’s Day event, which brought members together at the Monahan’s Swindon office to discuss leadership, share experiences and highlight two fantastic charities supporting and led by women; Book Aid and Hope After Harm.

Following the event Carol and Davinia from Little Spark Strategy ran a workshop for Hope After Harm as part of their International Women’s Day commitment to supporting charity development. The workshop focused on communications strategy, bringing the leadership team together to ensure alignment on priority audiences and messaging to achieve the charity’s strategic objectives and use their resources more efficiently. The workshop was run remotely using collaborative digital tools that made sure every voice was heard and every perspective fed into the decisions.

Thalia Jervis, CEO, Hope after Harm said “We were delighted to be part of this International Women’s Day event, alongside so many inspiring women. The follow-up workshop with Little Spark Strategy was a such valuable opportunity to step back and strengthen the way we communicate Hope After Harm’s impact.

“As a charity supporting people affected by trauma, abuse and harm, clear and confident communication is vital to ensuring the people who need us, and the partners who can help us, understand who we are and what we do. We are very grateful to Carol and Davinia at Little Spark Strategy for choosing to support us in such a practical and thoughtful way.

Carol Taylor, Founder, Little Spark Strategy said “The work that Hope after Harm do is inspirational and impressive especially given the size of the charity. We were very happy to give our time to support this organisation and help them create an efficient communications plan aligned with their strategic objectives. It was a pleasure to work with the leadership team, we made real progress by creating the space for discussion and giving everyone the same aligned language to work with afterwards.”

Commenting on the event, TVCC Senior Account Manager Tim Major said “One of the greatest strengths of the Chamber is the way our business community comes together to support one another and the wider society. The collaboration between Little Spark Strategy and Hope After Harm is a fantastic example of how businesses can use their skills for good, delivering real value, strengthening purpose, and making a lasting difference.”
