Joint-CEO of Willows Counselling in Swindon, Amanda Cook, has completes the epic walk of the West Highland Way to raise almost £1500 to fund renovation of one of the counselling rooms and to help fund counselling sessions.
Between 11th and 18th April, co-CEO and Counselling Manager, Amanda, and her daughter walked the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William in Scotland through a wide variety of scenery and across a range of challenging terrain. During 8 days of walking, they covered no less than 154km (96 miles).
Thanks to the generosity of many wonderful supporters, close to £1500 has been donated towards the work of Willows Counselling thus far.
Willows Counselling has provided counselling services to the community of Swindon for over 30 years. They firmly believe that low-income should not be a barrier to accessing good mental health support and therefore they provide an affordable service for those with limited finances. In an average week, Willows conducts around 60 counselling sessions, of which 85% are subsidised to some degree. Fundraising efforts like this are a vital part of helping them continue to meet the ever-growing need for quality counselling support.
Some of the funds will also be used to help renovate one of their counselling rooms to help maintain a comfortable and welcoming environment for clients.
While Amanda recovers from this amazing achievement, the Willows team are making plans for some more exciting fundraising events. In the meantime, it’s not too late to donate. Just follow this link: https://www.justgiving.com/charity/willows-counselling
