Thames Valley Construction Training Association (TVCTA) is proud to announce the return of its 2025 Apprenticeship Award winner, Rob Vine, who recently completed a two-week volunteer placement in Arusha, Tanzania. Rob was joined by fellow apprentice Josh from Moorland Heritage Limited, following their success at the 2025 TVCTA Apprenticeship Awards.
As part of their award, TVCTA fully funded the trip in partnership with Projects Abroad, enabling the apprentices to contribute to a meaningful construction project within a Maasai community. During their time in Tanzania, Rob and Josh worked on building a classroom at a local school, applying their skills to make a lasting impact while gaining invaluable international experience.
TVCTA continues to champion the development of apprentices across the construction industry, and this initiative reflects its commitment to providing opportunities that extend beyond traditional training.
“We are incredibly proud to have supported Rob and Josh on this journey and are delighted to welcome them back,” said a spokesperson at TVCTA. “Their commitment and attitude were exceptional, and the perspective they have gained will stay with them for years to come. The impact they have made will not be forgotten by those they supported.”
Reflecting on his experience, Rob Vine said:
This experience has been truly unforgettable, and I’ve appreciated every moment of it. It’s been incredibly eye-opening to experience a completely different way of life from what I’m used to, and I would like to go back again in the future.
The TVCTA Apprenticeship Awards recognise outstanding talent and dedication among apprentices in the construction sector, while also providing unique opportunities for personal and professional growth.
