Two accountants from the Newbury office of UK top 10 accountancy firm Azets are celebrating after achieving professional qualifications.
Jason Collins and Harry Collins have passed ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) and CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser) exams.
Accounts senior Jason, who works with the Accounts and Business Advisory team supporting a varied portfolio of clients across different industries has now passed all 15 ACA exams and due to be fully qualified in August this year.
A Bath University graduate, he joined Azets in 2023 after stints with Saica Group and XPS Pensions Group.
He said: “I enjoy the analytical and problem‑solving nature of accounting, particularly the opportunity to help clients understand their financial position and make informed decisions.”
Tax senior Harry, who works in both personal tax and corporate tax and advises a wide range of SME clients, achieved ACA and CTA qualifications.
He joined Azets in 2022 after graduating from Bournemouth University with a first class honours degree in accounting and finance.
Harry said: “Working my way through the qualifications certainly helps to strengthen my technical expertise by learning both academically and practically and it enables me to become a stronger member of the team.”
Neil Elsden, office managing partner for Azets in Newbury, said: “We congratulate both Jason and Harry for achieving these goals. They have both been studying hard as they continue progress along the career path.
“We firmly believe in developing our own talent at Azets in Newbury and supporting our trainees through their accounting qualifications is a perfect example of how learning while working can be so beneficial.
“Investing in our people remains a priority as we strive to deliver the highest level of service and with Jason and Harry it means we benefit from their hard work and dedication as they develop into the accountants and business advisors of the future.”
Azets offers a varied career path for early careers professionals. The graduate route is a three- or four-year programme where students study toward their chartered accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or ICAS).
The Newbury office of Azets has this month moved to new premises just a stone’s throw from its previous headquarters.
Staff are now based at Oxford House on Oxford Street after having to leave nearby Elizabeth House when it was earmarked for residential development.
Azets, the UK’s specialist business advisor to SMEs, provides a range of services tailored to businesses of all scales, encompassing sole traders to limited companies from the Newbury office.
The expert team of professional accountants are known as trusted business advisors and chartered accountants and offer a range of specialist business advisory services, as well as day-to-day accounting and tax requirements.
