Royal Berks Charity runners raise thousands at reading half marathon in 30th Anniversary Year

Royal Berks Charity is celebrating an incredible achievement after 73 dedicated runners took on the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday, raising vital funds to support patients and staff across the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

Together, the team has raised an impressive £42,431, and counting, with funds going directly towards enhancing wards, departments, and services across the Trust.

From first-time runners to seasoned participants, Team RBC showed remarkable determination, community spirit, and passion for making a difference. Supporters lined the streets to cheer them on, creating an electric atmosphere as runners completed the 13.1-mile challenge.

This year’s event marks a particularly special milestone, as it forms part of Royal Berks Charity’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Funds raised will help kickstart the charity’s ambitious £300,000 equipment appeal, which aims to fund life-changing medical equipment. This investment will support NHS teams to work more efficiently while improving patient care, treatment, and recovery experiences.

Martin Butler, Community and Events Manager at Royal Berks Charity said:

We are incredibly proud of every single one of our runners. Taking on a half marathon is no small feat, and to do it while raising funds for our hospital makes it even more special. This is a fantastic start to our 30th anniversary year, and we are so grateful for the support of our community.
