Prospect Hospice is inviting local businesses to support a brand-new community fundraising event, Men’s Walk to Support, taking place on Saturday 18 April 2026, in partnership with Swindon Town Football Club.
The 8-mile walk from Prospect Hospice in Wroughton to the County Ground has been designed to bring men together in a dedicated, supportive environment. The walk will be rounded off with a drink, food and a Swindon Town Football Club home game against Accrington Stanley.
Ben Lee, Head of Relationship Fundraising at Prospect Hospice, said: “The Men’s Walk to Support has been created to offer men a different kind of space. One where they can walk side by side, talk if they want to and feel supported without pressure. The event is about the wider mental health challenges men face – not just grief, but stress, loss and the things that are often hard to put into words.
Walking together, rather than sitting face to face, can make conversations feel easier. That simple idea is at the heart of the event.”
The Men’s Walk aims to welcome 500 participants and raise £80,000 for vital hospice care and its bereavement services. Prospect Hospice provides personalised end-of-life care and bereavement support across Swindon, Marlborough and surrounding areas, free of charge. With only 18% of its £10m annual running costs funded by government sources, community and corporate support play a vital role in sustaining services.
For businesses, Men’s Walk to Support presents an opportunity to support men’s mental health and be part of a visible and positive local event. Prospect Hospice are inviting corporations to get involved too – corporate partners can benefit from:
– Visibility across event marketing, PR and digital channels
– Opportunities for staff engagement and team participation or volunteering
– Demonstrating commitment to mental health, community and social responsibility
– Association with Swindon Town FC and Prospect Hospice
Businesses interested in sponsorship or partnership opportunities are encouraged to get in touch with Sinead Nolan-Martin to explore how they can be involved on 01783 816161 or email SineadNolan-Martin@prospect-hospice.net
