Andy Haldane CBE to Deliver Keynote at Thames Valley Growth Conference

Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (TVCC) are delighted to announce Andy Haldane CBE, President of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) as its keynote speaker at the Thames Valley Growth Conference.

Andy will be succeeding Baroness Lane-Fox as President, whose three-year term came to an end on February 1st 2026.

As President, Andy will work alongside Director General, Shevaun Haviland, and BCC Chair, Sarah Howard, to represent the interests of Chamber business communities across the country, at a critical time for the UK economy.  

Andy is a former Chief Economist at the Bank of England, former Chief Executive of the Royal Society for Arts, a member of the BoE’s Monetary Policy Committee, and Permanent Secretary for Levelling Up at the Cabinet Office. He is a previous Chair of the Government’s Industrial Strategy Council and it’s Levelling Up Advisory Council.

This half-day conference is co-sponsored by the University of Reading and CityFibre and takes place on Tuesday 12th May at Becton Dickinson’s (BD) impressive headquarters at Winnersh Triangle. Open to all businesses across the region, it is one of the flagship events in the Chambers calendar, and this year forms part of the Chambers 75th Anniversary year.

This years’ conference will be facilitated by Phil Smith CBE, Co-Chair of Skills England and feature three panel sessions covering:

  • Power to the Region: Devolution & Growth – Discover how devolution is transforming the Thames Valley region and shaping the future of local business growth.
  • Workforce 2030: Skills to Compete and Grow – The future of business growth depends on the right skills – and this session is your front-row seat to understanding how to develop, attract, and retain top talent in the Thames Valley.
  • Powering Growth: Thames Valley Sectors – The Thames Valley is home to a diverse and rapidly evolving business landscape. Explore the key sectors driving growth, innovation, and opportunity across the region.

The event will include networking opportunities and exhibition space for delegates to develop new connections and insights to apply to their business. Early bird tickets are now on sale.
