B P Collins is delighted to announce that Emma Eastwood, a lawyer in its family team, has been appointed to the Heart of Oxford Business Board, a group of local business leaders raising funds for British Heart Foundation (BHF) research and increasing awareness.
Emma’s appointment reflects her passion for supporting causes that foster healthier lives and meaningful community engagement. Speaking about her role, Emma said:
“I was eager to become involved with a cause that champions health and wellbeing and makes a significant positive impact on research for a vital cause. I hope to use my connections across Oxfordshire to make a genuine difference and contribute a vibrant, positive energy to the board.”
In her discussions and training with the BHF, Emma has been inspired by the charity’s ongoing work and impact:
“Not many people are aware that the British Heart Foundation has provided significant funding to the University of Oxford, creating a Centre of Research Excellence to continue vital research. In the 1960s, more than seven out of ten people in the UK who suffered a heart attack did not survive. Today, those figures have been reversed – seven out of ten now do survive. The BHF has been instrumental in improving heart health across the UK, and I’m incredibly excited to support such an amazing cause and contribute to fundraising initiatives that help fund this essential research.”
Jo Stevens, Chair of the Heart of Oxford Business Board, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Emma to the Heart of Oxford Business Board. Her enthusiasm and commitment to supporting our mission, combined with her connections across Oxfordshire, will be invaluable as we work together to raise awareness and vital funds for the British Heart Foundation’s lifesaving research.”
As part of upcoming initiatives, Heart Month will take place in February 2026, when Emma and the Heart of Oxford Business board are planning a 21-mile fundraising walk across Oxfordshire, to help raise funds for research into heart and circulatory diseases.
Emma’s appointment highlights B P Collins’ continued encouragement of its people to make a difference in the wider community – contributing their time, expertise and energy to causes that matter.
